Trust and payment rules

Taskly needs clear cancellation, non-response, revision, and dispute procedures. Escrow can reserve payment, but it cannot judge whether a logo or website meets a brief. Disputed orders need evidence review and a defined decision-maker, with release paused while the dispute is resolved.

Cancellation

Before funding, either party can cancel and nothing has moved. After funding, the client can refund the full locked quantity only while the order is awaiting delivery, or when the freelancer agrees. Refunds follow the agreed token-quantity rules, not an assumed original dollar value.

Non-response

If nothing has been delivered 3 days after the agreed deadline, the client can refund the locked quantity without a dispute. The freelancer sees the deadline on the order page from the moment it is funded.

Revisions

The revision limit is set on the listing and shown at checkout. The client can request revisions within scope until the limit is reached; each request is recorded on the order.

Disputes

Either party can open a dispute after delivery. Release is paused while it is open. A Taskly arbiter wallet reviews the evidence on the order and decides within 7 days, releasing the locked quantity to the freelancer, refunding it to the client, or splitting it.

The arbiter is a named wallet published with the contract, shown below once the escrow is live.

Auto-release

If the client takes no action for 7 days after delivery — no approval, no revision request, no dispute — the freelancer can claim the locked quantity.

Fee

The revenue model is a disclosed fee on completed orders: 5 % is taken from the released amount and paid in the same stock token to the Taskly treasury. Listing a service shows what the client pays and what the freelancer receives before either commits.

What the owner key can and cannot do

The owner key can allowlist tokens, set the fee up to a hard cap of 20 %, and pause new funding. It can never move a funded order’s tokens — there is no sweep function in the contract. Funds remain reserved for the order rather than being lent or traded by Taskly.

Turn tokenized stocks into a way to pay for work

Clients get the services they need. Freelancers receive the assets they agreed to earn. The marketplace connects the two through familiar hiring and delivery tools.
